Michele Smith, DVM
Our hospital's owner is Michele Smith, D.V.M. Dr. Smith graduated from Colorado State University, completed an internship at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, and then continued to work at Alameda as a staff doctor. After leaving Alameda East, Dr. Smith worked as an independent contractor at many veterinary hospitals in Colorado and California. She is also a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist. Dr. Smith is a resident in the Stapleton community, and cares deeply about the well-being of your beloved pets. When she's not working, Dr. Smith spends time with her husband Greg, young daughter Kamdyn, cat Minnie, dogs Charlie and Stewart and her horses Jonas and Chesterfield.
Shelly Sandel, DVM
Dr. Shelly Sandel is our associste veterinarian. Dr. Sandel received her DVM from the University of Wisconsin and practiced in Maine and Virginia before settling down in Colorado where she has worked for many small animal hospitals as both an associate veterinarian and an independent contractor. Dr. Sandel’s interests within veterinary medicine include internal medicine, dermatology, and surgery. Like Dr. Smith, Dr. Sandel is a resident of the Stapleton community. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son, Spencer, and her husband, Bill. Unfortunately, Spencer is allergic to dogs and cats so they don’t have any canine or feline companions at home. But, you may see them hanging out at the Farmer’s Market or Starbucks with Spencer asking if he can pet the dogs he meets.
